Dearest Readers,
If it seems I’ve sent a lot of these “sorry about the lack of new posts” messages lately, it’s because I have! The past two months have been a bit of a blur thanks in a large part to work, both article writing and my book proposal (which I’ve completed and is now sitting on my agent’s desk–hurrah!). The other detail that has kept me away from The Shepherd and the Olive Tree is our upcoming departure for Greece, for the children and I leave our Montana village for our Greek one this coming Wednesday. We’ll be there for the duration of Jasper and Sylvie’s summer vacation and then some, and you can bet that my first priority, beyond taking care of the children, will be posting here. Over the next few months, I plan to take lots of photos and gather many stories and recipes for your delectation.
Although it’s a bit hard to leave Montana in May, and especially one so beautiful as this, we’re excited to return to the sea, our friends and family in Greece (despite the turmoil, despite the bad news coming, it seems, every day from Athens). Once we arrive and have settled in, I’ll be in touch. In the meantime, thank you for sticking with me through thick and through thin. I look forward to writing to you from the village.
With much love,
Alexis.

Congrats on the book proposal, good luck packing and I can’t wait for new stories!
Thank you so much!!
